  • dot2 fan nice

Hi Jerryjanson, by default, the fan is driven by sensors on the Printed Circuit Boards inside the console. This can be irregular- when a sensor alerts that there is a overtemperature, the fan starts running faster, if it cool, the Fan slows down and so on. Since when do you use your console? Was the Fan less noisy in the beginning, so did it become louder? Then maybe a bearing is worn out or dirt let it run more noisy. But this issue sounds like you need hardware help. Please get in contact to u…

Hi BrandyA, "release" makes values grabbable for other executors. If you have an Executor (f.e. 1.1) that should just does a White color on your fixtures (lets say one Fixture after the other) while they should listen to other Executors in the meantime (when they get not told to be white from Exec 1.1), you have to to tell your Fixtures what to do - and that´s "release". So "release" makes them availible for other playbacks and they are part of the LTP game- the last value will be taken from the…

  • Oups! Yeah, then you have to use the "Screenshot" function, you´re right!

  • Hi there, yes, the way "Go- Button" pointed out is absolutely the right one. Use the Macro, export the patch and open it in a webbrowser and print it there. dot2 3D: A better way than a screenshot is to look into the "3D Objects" sheet and mark the datas/ values via mouse (they get a blue background then) and copy these datas/ values. Then paste them in Excel. Works the other way around as well. Cheers, Qincy

  • Dot2 on PC signal failure

Hello Anders, what you describe is not known as a bug, neither in technical support nor did we got any similar feedback. I am sure that the problem is not caused by the dot2 onPC software itself. Now we should find out what goes wrong. A few questions to check before we go more into it: Does the problem occure with a new created showfile as well? What fixture types do you use in your showfile? Does the issue happen allways with the same fixtures/ fixture types? Have you downloaded the dot2 onPC …

  • Hi n20, the dot2 onPC gives out the first DMX universe (512 channels) for free. You can use the network connector of your PC for that, by choosing the ArtNet or sACN network protocol in the dot2 onPC. To do so, you should make sure that the dot2 onPC chooses the right network interface- so please go to Setup/ network interface and select your local LAN adaptor. (the dot2 onPC might do a restart) Then, patch Fixtures onto the first DMX universe, open a network session, put a green hook for ArtNet…

  • Speed on a fader

    Michael - - the dot2 Forum

    Post

Hi Adinatha, it depends on where your effect is running: 1. if it´s running in the programmer, you can´t have the speed on a Fader/ use the learn button. only possibility is to use the speed encoder of the effects view. 2. if it´s running from a Fader or Button Executor, go into the settings of that executor and change the "master speed" from "no Speed" to f.e. "M. Speed 1" now all effects of this executor listen to Master Speed fader 1 Assign the Master Speed fader 1 to your playback via "Store…

Hi Roberts Vanags, no, at the moment it is not possible to store your own effect templates or effect presets and export them, so you can use them in other showfiles. A workaround might be, to create a kind of "basic showfile" for yourself, including a lot of preset effects, chasers and so on. You can use this showfile for upcomming shows with different fixture types, by exchanging the fixture types from show to show. Cheers Qincy

Aaah, we slowly get there. Sorry for my explanation before, I didn´t know that you are mixing between programmer (red) values and playback (yellow) Values. the explanation I gave you before was about values from different playbacks. The reason why it doesn´t work is, that programmer values have a higher priority than playback values in dot2. means, no matter what your Buttonexecutors or faderexecutors do- the handgiven (programmer) Values have a higher priority. Your executor says Blue - lights …

VG, Qincy

Some things seem to be mixed up here... so let me clear this a bit: off/ on overwritten: a button executor switches off another button executor, if the second started one contains exactly the same informations as the first started buttonexecutor. a button executor can not switch off a faderexecutor, even when the same informations are stored in both a faderexecutor switches off a buttonexecutor In all cases LTP rules. The chaser you like to build should respect colors coming from other executors…

  • Hi MarcMonsa, it´s a matter of the "toggle", which switches a Cuelist on and off. Use the fadetime to fade into your Cue (Fixture dimmer open in Fadetime) and use the "Off time" to switch the Cuelist off (via your second hit onto the toggle button). Done!

  • Hi there, Welcome to our first Tips & Tricks clip in 2018! We received some questions about the behavior of Fixtures and how to change it. In our example, we change the default Zoom angle as well as the default Tilt position of a fixture and Change the exsisting Fixture in our Show against the modificated one. Have a look! • Sorry to pop into your conversation, but: Groupmasters have a high priority and they work on the fixtures, so as a workaround, you could use Groupmasters to limit fixtures that run effects on buttonexecutors. Another workaround to limit buttonexecutors is to type commands like "at 50", followed by a press on the buttonexecutor- this will set this buttonexec to 50% and a little Fader symbol appears. You can also use "at 60 fade 3", followedby a press on the buttonexec. Maybe this is something you…
